Capsule Geology

The hotspring issues at 484 litres per minute from a crevice about 5 centimetres wide and several metres long in Paleozoic chlor- itic schist. It is well over 45 degrees Celsius and consists of the following, in parts per million: Cl-60, Na-259, SO4-546, Mg-5, Ca-67, K-29, HCO3-167, SiO2-90. Total dissolved solids are 1228 parts per million.
